My greatest source of inspiration is Nature: not understood as in a portrait of the landscape that surrounds us, but as a space made of lines and shapes that bind, which are interconnected with each other and observed through a physical sensitivity and not mental.
Space is composed of objects recognized by the human eye with experience and knowledge, but if you listen to the wind, the sea, if you touch the water of a stream or the earth, if you smell a flower, in your mind other forms of spaces are created, other visual perceptions.
The vases are born from this: the first step is the collection of branches, abandoned on the beach, (recognizable objects), then I clean them, I polish them, I rediscover their wooden beauty and insert them into plaster blocks.
From that wooden beauty, made of veins and colors, my lines start, creating a whole with the collected branches: in them I looked for those "natural" forms that, from my point of view, create a sense of peace, fluidity, therapeutic introspection and almost cosmic silence. The vases are the result of this instinctive research, without design, following the "case".
But this personal vision of mine is not collected by everyone, so I tried to make it more explicit by emphasizing it with light.
An exposure of these vases to a very strong light brought out those details that as a whole were perceived as an object, but in the particular and in depth the gaze is guided in my personal and substantial sensitivity. With light, the object is transformed into other forms in which other objects, places or spaces interconnected with one's ego are perceived.
I followed the path in reverse: from the object to the drawing, then to the creation of canvases in which I filter the perception of that truth that is not the same for everyone. The observation of an object in its particular, through light, goes beyond the first glare, but scrutinizes it after the first illusion, the first deception of the whole.
Continuing this path I have also included color, in some drawings, to encourage the viewer to grasp that visionary reality observed by my eye, almost as a training for the viewer to try to understand that an artist is not the one who portrays an object and that's it, but who portrays those worlds, those shapes or those spatial depths that the object itself hides.
